Mike
Montano (Solo Guitar) Began
playing guitar in 1963. Influences
are: Andres Segovia, Django Reinhardt, Wes Montgomery, John Collins, Charlie Byrd, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Joe Pass Played
by ear till 1981 when he studied Classical guitar for a few years and
learned how to read and write music. In
1984 began to study fingerstyle jazz guitar. Took lessons from John
Collins (former guitarist for Nat King Cole), and continue to this day
taking lessons from other top jazz guitarists in the LA area. Has
performed at various Weddings, Special Dinners, Private Partys Christmas
Partys, CoffeeHouses and Restaurants. Mike
plays all kinds of solo music:
Classical, Blues, Fingerstyle Jazz Standards and Bossa Novas. Mike
can bring a sound system and pre-recorded backing tracks which makes
for a fuller sound if desired.
